Four Pillars:

Promote health for the benefit of the public by providing active and retired personnel in First Nations Police, Municipal Police, Provincial Police and Correctional services diagnosed with an operational stress injury, including post-traumatic stress with access to counseling, including suicide prevention counseling, information and group support programs by:

  1. Providing a national online resource hub

Developing and maintaining a publicly available national online resource containing information and links to local resources for therapy, treatment and suicide prevention related to operational stress injury, including post-traumatic stress and suicide prevention for active and retired personnel in First Nations Police, Municipal Police, Provincial Police and Correctional services.

  1. Fostering the development of peer-led support resources

Assisting persons interested in developing and maintaining local peer led support groups for active and retired personnel in First Nations Police, Municipal Police, Provincial Police and Correctional services diagnosed with an operational stress injury, including post-traumatic stress and suicide prevention by providing information, resources and guidance related to the selection of appropriate peer supporters, venue identification and funding.

  1. Develop a national training and resource network

Develop a national training and resource network for the provision of therapy and treatment of operational stress injury, including post-traumatic stress and suicide prevention resources for active and retired personnel in First Nations Police, Municipal Police, Provincial Police and Correctional services.

  1. Advancing the public’s understanding of operational stress injury including post-traumatic stress and suicide prevention

Assist, inform and engage with First Nations Police, Municipal Police, Provincial Police and Correctional services and/or government consulting on the adoption and/or changes to laws and/or programs related to the prevention and treatment of operational stress injury, including post-traumatic stress and suicide prevention among active and retired personnel in First Nations Police, Municipal Police, Provincial Police and Correctional services.
