About me
After serving as a paramedic for 38 years in the County of Simcoe, I began my involvement with Badge of Life Canada in 2021. Subsequent to the treatment for my psychological injury, I started by attending weekly peer support meeting which was the perfect adjunct to my ongoing journey of recovery and post traumatic growth.
Overview And Experience
Honored To Be Part Of Badge Of Life Canada
“Trauma creates change you don’t choose,
healing creates change you do choose”.
Recovering from a psychological injury is hard, uncomfortable work, no doubt. No one can give you a road map or a time frame for your healing journey; we are all different. Having taken that journey, my post traumatic growth now comes from helping others find their way, through Badge Of Life Canada. I continue to learn as I progress, having taken courses through Harvard medical school (online), F.B.I. Resiliency Course for Officers, and P.A.T.S.S. (Peer And Trauma Support System).
It is my intention with Badge of Life Canada that no one should have to heal alone. We will continue to make “Badge” a community where first responders can access peer support and education in a welcoming, accepting, and safe environment.
