Alex is a registered social worker and psychotherapist with 12 years of experience in the mental health field. She holds a master’s degree in social work and bachelor’s degree in psychology. Prior to providing psychotherapy in a private practice setting, her professional background largely involved hospital work in the emergency department, palliative care unit, and outpatient mental health.
Alex has a special interest in supporting first responders with both PTSD prevention and recovery. She has worked with a variety of public safety personnel, including police, fire, EMS, 911 dispatchers, and corrections. Alex offers both structured trauma therapy and general counselling using a variety of modalities, such as EMDR, DBT, CBT and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Complimentary 15-20 minute consultations are offered prior to booking a session.

Clinical Psychologists
Clinical Psychologists are required to complete a related Masters and Ph.D. program to practice in the province of Ontario that must be research-based and subsequently have a thesis component. They are governed by the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO).
Registered Psychotherapists
Registered Psychotherapists (RPs) are registered by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and, like Registered Social Workers and Clinical Psychologists, are permitted to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy.
Registered Social Workers
Registered Social Workers (RSW) are helping individuals to enhance their well-being. They are governed by the Ontario College of Social Workers.
