Amanda holds a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Toronto as well as a Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Sociology Degrees from McMaster University. Amanda achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Social Work Practice Education from Goldsmiths University in London, England.
Amanda is an experienced Social Work practitioner who believes in a holistic approach to well-being. She specializes in supporting first responders, frontline workers, helping professionals and those who are survivors of abuse and trauma. Amanda practices trauma-informed therapy, based in mindfulness and self-compassion. She takes time getting to know each of her clients and will tailor a treatment plan based on your unique needs and goals.
Amanda is trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Self Compassion (MBSR).
Amanda is a very experienced trainer, facilitator and coach having developed and delivered multi-agency training for frontline workers internationally, in Local and National Government and University settings for over a decade. Outside of her private psychotherapy practice, she currently volunteers her time as a Mental Health Consultant for Wainfleet Fire and Emergency Services.
