I have been treating first responders including Police Officers, Correctional Officers, Paramedics, and Firefighters for over four years, during which time I have had regular supervision and consultation with several clinical psychologists overseeing the treatment. Beyond psychological treatment, this work includes providing recommendations for workplace accommodations and return to work processes to their employers, as well as WSIB case managers and return to work specialists; advocating on their behalf with the above supports; consulting with treating psychiatrists, physicians, and occupational therapists; as well as taking a client-centered approach to collaboratively plan and prepare for reintegration into the workforce with the individual first responder.

I utilize Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) (incorporating exposure) in trauma treatment. I also provide couples/family therapy for clients wanting support in navigating the impacts occupational stress has had on their close relationships.

I have completed training in CPT, Level I & II EMDR training for treating simple and complex PTSD, as well as specialized training in using EMDR for treating Veterans and First Responders. I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Couples and Family Therapy as well as the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy.
