Dr. Laura Friesen is a first responder spouse and specializes in areas such as first responder and military culture, transitions to civilian life, trauma, PTSD, occupational stress injuries, moral injuries, anxiety, depression, grief, and rural, remote, and isolated location culture and issues. In her past work life, she worked as part of a nursing team in a remote location in Alberta. Her clinic is virtual due to the nature of being transferred from time to time for her spouse’s work. Laura is registered in Alberta and the Northwest Territories and these licences allow her to provide services to anyone located in YT, NWT, AB, NU, QC, NB, and NS. She offers a free phone consultation to see if supports feel like a fit. Direct billing to Medavie Blue Cross and Alberta Blue Cross is available.

Clinical Psychologists

Clinical Psychologists are required to complete a related Masters and Ph.D. program to practice in the province of Ontario that must be research-based and subsequently have a thesis component. They are governed by the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO).

Registered Psychotherapists (RPs) are registered by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and, like Registered Social Workers and Clinical Psychologists, are permitted to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy.
