Couples Overcoming PTSD Everyday (COPE)
November 18 - November 23
“COPE” or “Couples Overcoming PTSD Everyday” is a new and innovative program that uses the power of the “group” to learn how to manage PTSD in the home. Treating the individual diagnosed with PTSD in isolation misses a major component on the path to better health and happier life.
COPE is sponsored by Wounded Warriors Canada, our founding National Funding Partner. From the initial presentation of the idea of COPE, they have offered their encouragement, support and generous funding of this initiative.
COPE is now open to first responders. We do have a fairly long waiting list so please be patient as we work our way through the list of couples asking for COPE. When your name comes up for a possible position for a COPE Program in your geographical area, someone will contact you either by phone or email to see if the dates work for you. If so, you and your partner will be required to attend by phone an intake interview conducted by a COPE Psychologist. This process takes one hour and is the final step in being accepted to attend the COPE Program. Once this is completed and you are both deemed ready/fit to attend COPE, you will receive the Joining Instructions. In the meantime, and while you wait, you might consider sourcing the CanPraxis Program for couples also funded by Wounded Warriors Canada.
