About Trauma Services of Southwestern Ontario (TSSWO)
Recent research indicates that many individuals who have experienced a traumatic event in their lives have never fully resolved this trauma. This includes early life adversity in the family of origin, abuse as a result of physical, emotional and sexual assault, traumatic events experienced by first responders, combat veterans and those who have been exposed to war-community violence, as well as acute traumas such as motor vehicle accidents, workplace violence-death and sudden and unexpected loss. Trauma Services of Southwestern Ontario (TSSWO) provides consultation, specialized and customized assessment, and treatment options to individuals, families and groups who have experienced or been exposed to such traumas. TSSWO also provides consultation and training to community service providers and organizations in the area of trauma.
TSSWO is an association of mental health professionals with many years of experience in consultation, assessment, treatment, and training. Our goal is to join the ever growing services that recognize the need for comprehensive and effective interventions for trauma survivors.
We believe with the right tools, knowledge and supports, individuals can recover from trauma thus improving day to day functioning, personal relationships and overall pleasure in life.
