Rebecca Brown has a Masters Degree in Social Work and a career that has spanned over 30 years within medical social work, trauma, child welfare and crisis response fields. For over 20 years she was a Supervisor at the Children’s Aid Society, and Coordinator of the Critical Incident Debriefing Team. She was a Provincial Trainer for the Ont. Association of Children’s Aid Societies and taught the curriculum on Wellness and Self-Care. Her experience in resilience building and Lifestyle Medicine is incorporated into her clinical practice. Rebecca continues her work in Crisis Management Response, and provides onsite psychological first aid (CISM) following workplace traumas through Homewood Health. Rebecca is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, at Western University and delivers workshops and conferences throughout North America on the topics of PTSD, Vicarious Trauma, Compassion Fatigue and Resilience to professionals in the trauma and health fields. Rebecca divides her clinical time between the Sauble Family Health Team and her most recent passion, providing Equine Assisted Therapy for trauma survivors and a variety of mental health conditions. Certified in Equine Assisted Therapy through the world’s leading EAGALA model, Rebecca and her team ensure the highest level of evidence-based, experiential trauma counselling for first responders, their families and anyone impacted by life’s traumas and tragedies. Services are covered by most insurance companies and Health Canada for all people with First Nations Status.

Clinical Psychologists

Clinical Psychologists are required to complete a related Masters and Ph.D. program to practice in the province of Ontario that must be research-based and subsequently have a thesis component. They are governed by the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO).
