Cambridge, ON – Angela Englander
Ms. Englander is a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. In 2006 Angela began working in the social services profession supporting people in recovering from disabilities, injuries, traumatic experiences and mental illness. In 2012 she began working as a therapist with a trauma specialization. She has studied Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Ms. Englander uses a tri-phase safe approach to help people manage their trauma symptoms, process upsetting and overwhelming events and reconnect with people in their lives.
As a trauma specialist Ms. Englander provides clients with invaluable information about the impact of trauma, how the brain and nervous system respond to traumatic and overwhelming experiences and how people’s parenting and relationships are impacted. She has also supported many clients in working through occupational stress injuries including moral injury, burnout, vicarious trauma, and job related post-traumatic stress disorder.
Ms. Englander has experience working in hospitals, employee assistance programs, trauma therapist centres, and most recently starting her own private practice. Recently Ms. Englander was interviewed on the Trauma Therapist Podcast as an expert talking about post-traumatic stress and how it is treated. She has also been nominated for awards of recognition for her work. Her current projects include her increasing specialization in the use of EMDR with first responders and the use of EMDR recent traumatic incidents work. She is also supporting families that have been impacted by a family member having traumatic stress symptoms.
