Michele is a registered Social Worker in the Province of Ontario with over 17 years experience. This experience has provided her with insight and knowledge of people and the life adversity they face. Michele believes in a client centred, non-judgemental, systems approach to assisting individuals, couples and families to overcome their personal challenges. Michele has experience working in family court as a mediator, custody and access assessor at the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, and has done numerous workshops for the Ministry of the Attorney General. Michele entered in to private practice in 2010, and has had her practice evolved with a strong focus on the impact trauma has on front line responders. While Michele emphasizes working with police offices, corrections officers, 911 dispatch, veteran, military personal, paramedics and fire fighters, she also welcomes working with spouses and family members of these professions.
Michele’s style of therapy is the belief that all clients are strong functioning individuals who need a safe and non-judgemental environment to help process the challenges they face. She approaches the journey of healing and the individual’s she works with from the perspective of a holistic, multi-modality perspective. Michele’s approaches include cognitive therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioural therapy, and solution focused therapy. Michele also considers emerging therapies such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Energy Psychology and Hypnosis. Michele is dedicated to remaining current on a wide variety of therapies.
