A research centre based at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver. CARMHA is internationally recognized for innovative and interdisciplinary scientific research related to mental health and substance use, primarily in the areas of clinical or other intervention practice, health systems and population health and epidemiology.
Mental Health First Aid Canada
Mental Health First Aid Canada is a national program, which is based on the same principles as medical first aid. Where medical first aid teaches people skills that they need to help someone with an injury until medical help arrives, mental health first aid teaches people the skills they need to help someone developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis until they can receive professional treatment or until the crisis is over. The program is evidence-based and is proven effective.
