Overview And Experience
Honored To Be Part Of Badge Of Life Canada
Years ago, as a young psychologist, a clinical supervisor asked me what I did best, what my favourite thing to do was. I said I most enjoyed working with any person who could have a really good conversation with me because I could do my best work when I had that. All these years later, I still work best that way. So if we work together, expect to have meaningful and thought-provoking conversations.
As a cognitive-behaviour therapist, my philosophy is that people can change by changing how they think and what they do. So, we’ll begin with ‘the big picture,’ looking to see what works and what doesn’t. From there, we can get down into the weeds, mastering behaviours and skills needed to make the kinds of changes required to improve life and functioning. Helping adult clients overcome anxiety, fear and trauma is my favourite area of work, but I also really enjoy working with couples who want to improve their communication, intimacy and relationship. Generally speaking, I feel my work is useful when it helps people get out of their own ways and feel good in their lives.
