Badge of Life Canada was proud to participate in a recent wellness event at the Ontario Police College, connecting with recruits, instructors, and members of the policing community.

Executive Director Laura Kloosterman and Flanders at the Event
The event created an opportunity to speak directly with those entering the profession about the importance of mental health, peer support, and building strong support networks early in their careers. Policing is a profession built on service, resilience, and teamwork, and events like this reinforce that wellbeing must be part of that foundation.
During the day, participants were able to learn more about resources available to public safety personnel and their families, including peer support opportunities and trauma-informed programs offered through Badge of Life Canada. Conversations throughout the event highlighted the importance of recognizing stress early, supporting one another, and ensuring that members know they are never alone in navigating the challenges that can come with the profession.
The openness and engagement from recruits and staff demonstrated a growing commitment across the policing community to prioritize mental health alongside operational readiness.
Badge of Life Canada extends its appreciation to the Ontario Police College for hosting this wellness-focused initiative and for continuing to support conversations that strengthen the health and resilience of those preparing to serve.
Investing in wellbeing today helps build stronger, healthier leaders for tomorrow.
Canadian Public Safety personnel and their families are never on this journey alone. Organizations like Badge of Life Canada are here to be a part of that journey with a pro-active approach to mental wellness. We need to continue the dialogue in order to transform the culture. We are always open to positive comments and suggestions. You can reach us on our website at BadgeofLifeCanada.org.
