Badge of Life Canada recently had the privilege of attending the Corunna OPP Detachment’s annual Vets BBQ, a cherished event dedicated to honoring our veterans. The day was made even more special with a visit from our beloved therapy dog, Flanders.
S/Sgt Erica VanRoboys, Laura Kloosterman, and Flanders
The event was a resounding success, bringing together retired and active officers in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was a day filled with camaraderie, delicious food, and heartfelt conversations, all aimed at fostering a supportive community for those who have dedicated their lives to public safety.
Flanders, our dedicated therapy dog, stole the show with his gentle demeanor and unwavering support. His presence provided a comforting and therapeutic experience for everyone in attendance, showcasing the incredible bond between service animals and their handlers.
We were deeply moved by the stories shared by the veterans and current officers, highlighting the importance of events like these in maintaining the mental health and well-being of our public safety personnel. The Vets BBQ served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our officers and the enduring strength of their community.
Badge of Life Canada is committed to supporting the mental health of public safety personnel and their families. Events like the Vets BBQ reinforce our mission and the critical need for continued support and resources for those who serve and protect us.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Corunna OPP Detachment for hosting such a meaningful event and to all the veterans and officers who attended. Special thanks to Flanders for bringing smiles and comfort to everyone present.
Together, we can continue to build a community of support and resilience. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to our mission.
