Therapists
In order to be listed, you must meet the criteria listed below.
Criteria:
You must be registered, licensed, and in good standing with an overseeing regulatory body in the jurisdiction where you practice.
You must carry your own liability insurance.
You must participate in continuing education to maintain your credentials.
Be culturally competent in topics that include:
- Trauma treatment modalities (e.g., EMDR, CPT, IFS, somatic approaches)
- Working with Public Safety Personnel and First Responders
- Family systems and secondary trauma
- Peer support integration in clinical care
- Legal system navigation and testimony after trauma
- Proof of completion must be submitted annually.
You must be a member in good standing of the regulatory body in the jurisdiction where you practice and provide proof of same when requested. It is your responsibility to inform us if you become under review or not in good standing. We reserve the right to remove your listing until you return to good standing
You must conform to your regulatory body code of ethics and program monitoring
Commitment to Ethical Practice:
- Adherence to confidentiality, client safety, and trauma-informed ethical standards
- Willingness to work collaboratively with Badge of Life Canada peer support facilitators when appropriate
- Understanding of PSP culture (policing, fire, EMS, corrections, communications) including operational realities (e.g, hypervigilance, shift work, critical incidents, chain of command).
- Familiarity with the impacts of institutional betrayal, critical incident stress, cumulative trauma, and reintegration challenges.
