Alex Sellors

Alex is a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist, and EMDR Certified Therapist with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. She holds a master’s degree in social work and bachelor’s degree in psychology. Prior to working in private practice, her professional background largely involved hospital work in the emergency department, outpatient mental health, and on mobile crisis teams. Alex has a special interest in supporting first responders and healthcare workers. She has worked with a variety of public safety personnel, including police, fire, EMS, 911 dispatchers, and corrections. Alex is experienced in treating occupational stress injuries and various forms of complex trauma.

Alex offers both structured trauma therapy and general counselling for non-trauma related concerns, such as relationship issues, emotion regulation, and stress management. She offers in-person therapy at her downtown Hamilton office as well as virtual appointments across Ontario. She offers free 15 minute consultations prior to booking a session.
