Bio
I am dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate life’s transitions and thrive in the personal and professional paths they have chosen. With specialized training in trauma and perinatal mental health, I bring both clinical expertise and lived understanding to my work with clients experiencing significant life changes.
My professional focus is shaped by my own experience transitioning into motherhood while working in the healthcare field. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to adjust to rapid changes — emotionally, physically, and in one’s sense of identity. Many individuals find themselves feeling anxious, irritable, or unexpectedly low without fully understanding why. In our work together, clients receive not only evidence-based therapeutic support, but also the reassurance of working with someone who truly understands the complexities of this season of life.
Education
Amber earned joint honours degrees in Psychology and Criminology & Criminal Justice, with a minor in Law, from Carleton University. She completed her Master of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University, with a primary focus on individuals, families, and groups, and a secondary focus on community, policy, planning, and organizations.
As part of her graduate training, Amber completed an international placement in Moshi, Tanzania, where she provided community engagement initiatives and facilitated psychosocial support groups for vulnerable children and youth.
