Dr. Samantha Fuss Ackerman

Dr. Samantha Fuss Ackerman is a registered Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. Her area of focus is adult mental health, and she provides individual therapy that recognizes the fundamental importance of the therapeutic relationship as the foundation from which to foster empowerment and positive change in the clients with whom she works. She currently holds a position in a mental health program for first responders through Trillium Health and was previously a staff psychologist in the Work, Stress and Health Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Her clinical work at that setting focuses on providing evidence-based assessment and treatment for individuals who have experienced traumatic events through the course of their work, with a primary focus on first responder populations.

Dr. Fuss Ackerman completed her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at York University in Toronto. She undertook her pre-doctoral internship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, with rotations in the Women’s Program and Work, Stress, and Health clinic. She has also held positions at Toronto General Hospital in the Eating Disorder Day Hospital Program, as well as at Toronto Western Hospital in a multidisciplinary chronic pain program.
