Hana Varzandeh

Hana Varzandeh is a Registered Social Worker (BSW,MSW,RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She has over 18 years of clinical experience providing mental health services in the community. She worked as part of the Mental Health Crisis Team in the Emergency Departments of several local hospitals. For over five years, she was part of the Mobile Crisis Team working, on site, alongside and in consultation with community partners, including the Peel Police Service. Further, she has experience providing therapeutic intervention to a varied clientele, working with hospital outpatient mental health services, rehabilitation services, the Children’s Aid Society and Employee Assistant Programs (EAP). This broad range of experience has equipped her with unique skills to connect with a diverse clientele and form a therapeutic alliance. In her practice, Hana provides trauma-informed care using a range of evidence-based treatment modalities including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Humanistic/Client-Centered Therapy.

Hana completed training on Moral Injury, with certification in “Veteran and Military Mental Health Certification: Culturally Competent Treatment for Trauma, Moral Injury, Substance Abuse, Suicidality and more”.

Hana is familiar with the challenges and dilemmas that you, working as police officers and front-line workers, face in complying with your duties, while keeping the public safe. She understands the tremendous emotional toll you experience, in your jobs, which is not often seen or acknowledged. Hana is dedicated in providing you with the support you need to better manage your stress, improve your mental health, and help move you toward a healthier more fulfilling life.
