I believe that first and foremost, the most important thing you can know about me is that I am passionate about helping people thrive. The process of partnering with someone on their journey to attain goals that have long felt out of reach is an incredible gift, and one that I cherish. I have had the privilege of partnering on hundreds of journeys such as this, and each time I have been reminded of the resilience of the human spirit, the creativity innate in each of us, and the ability to thrive in spite of our past hurts. It is thanks to these experiences that I am able to continue approaching each new journey with great passion, hope and confidence that we can all experience freedom from the chains that bind us – that each of us has the capacity to grow. change. live… thrive.

My passion for helping dates back a long way. As long as I can remember, I have been there for others with a great capacity to care, listen and offer practical suggestions. This led me to a career that I love. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (French Minor) at the University of Alberta, followed by a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor operating in Private Practice in Langley, BC. I have worked, specializing in trauma therapy for individuals and couples, since 2009. In 2010 I began my private practice and in 2016 I expanded my practice to include other highly qualified counsellors with diverse interests and specializations.

When I set out to become a counsellor, I knew very quickly that I wanted to specialize in working with trauma. I have pursued additional training, including Observed Experiential Integration and Lifespan Integration, in order to offer trauma-centered tools to support my clients. While I work mainly with adults who have experienced traumas of all kinds, I also offer couples counselling in addition to counselling for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and general stressors. I consider myself an attachment-based therapist, utilizing the notions of attachment and attunement principles as the framework for therapy, however I integrate tools from various therapeutic styles in order to fit the infinitely unique needs of each client. These tools include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Observed Experiential Integration, Lifespan Integration, and Mindfulness and Grounding Practices.

I offer 50 minute sessions for $145 (tax inclusive), and 90 minute sessions for $217.50 (tax inclusive). Session fees are payable by cash, cheque, e-transfer (e-transfers must be received prior to the session), or credit. My services are often covered by extended medical benefits (please confirm this with your benefits provider). In addition I am a provider with ICBC and I am also a part of the WorkSafeBC provider network.

In addition to my clinical practice, I also offer clinical supervision and engage in facilitating training for developing clinicians in trauma-focused techniques. I am also available for speaking engagements, as well as group therapy facilitation when a sufficient number of individuals are interested.
