If you find yourself keeping things contained, pushing through, or staying in “work mode” long after your shift ends, you’re not alone. Many first responders come to therapy feeling shut down, on edge, or unsure how to express feelings about what they’re carrying at work or at home. You may notice patterns impacting your relationships, difficulty expressing your needs, or a sense of disconnection from yourself or others. Therapy is a space where we can slow things down, calm the nervous system, and untangle the effects of critical incidents, stress, trauma, and moral injury, while building skills to improve communication, emotional regulation, and connection.
I integrate practical, evidence-based approaches like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and mind-body techniques at a pace that feels safe and collaborative. The goal is not to take away what makes you effective, but to help you build emotional safety, resilience, and a stronger connection to yourself and the people who matter most.
