Drawing on my education, lived experience, and extensive clinical work as a Registered Psychotherapist, I bring a deeply informed and culturally competent approach to supporting first responders.
As a former law enforcement officer and a clinician who spent several years on a police service crisis team, I have firsthand insight into operational stress injuries, cumulative trauma exposure, and the moral and ethical pressures inherent in uniformed service. This dual perspective allows me to understand the unique workplace dynamics that shape identity, coping strategies, and help seeking behaviours within policing and other first responder communities.
In my therapeutic work, I strive to create a culturally safe space where clients feel understood without needing to explain the nuances of their profession, enabling them to explore their experiences, build resilience, and navigate recovery with support that honours both their service and their humanity.
A short description of the various therapist certifications in Ontario.
